SKlNHEAD-BEAT came out end of 70's , start of 80's ;Oi ! music was not enough anymore for the Skinheads as expression, then bands such as Criminal Class ,the Strike,Combat 84 or the pionners of this "new breed", Last Resort slowed the tempo , got more into the bootboy story telling and so, Skinhead beat was born. A whole street subculture got its own tribal dance style and music, after REGGAE and Oi!,da Skinhead new bootstomp took place and is still , nowadays , the rougher soundmark of the scene. Criminal Class was formed in Coventry, England in 1979, one of the first Oi!/Skinhead bands to emerge. The band made their debut on the compilation 'Strength Thru Oi!' in 1981 by 'Decca Records', which turned out to be a catastrophe for all the bands that appeared on the compilation due to violence that occured in Southall that same year. The following year the band released their only single, 'Fighting The System' in 1982 by 'Tempest Records'. Even though the band had slow tempo songs, their lyrics were very powerful. Had to do with corruption in England, the Falklands War, police brutality, black and white unity, and more. The band split up in the mid '80s and later reformed in 2000 after the release of the CD 'Blood on the Streets: The Criminal Class Oi! Collection' by Captain Oi!Records, recollecting tracks from the EP, 'Strength Thru Oi!', demos, and tracks that were never released. (taken from skunxcomeback.blogspot) With bands such as THE OVALTINEES,Antisocial(uk),Iron-cross(usa), and ,(not on this record), the STRIKE or Last resort, -* CR🖕M🖕NAL CLASS *- from Conventry* -U.K,🇬🇧 started their career with the first Oi! compilation,ever, circa1981,-"Strenght thru' Oi!", The Sound's magazine's manifesto of Oi!-music. ANOTHER SKINHEAD BIBLE-under influence of GARRY BUSHELL, Reporter music master at the SOUNDS ,and also, THE GONADS 's voice. Their music, different from usual Oi! such as C⚽️CKNEY REJECTS , did really mark the starting of a skinhead new era, wich i call the SKINHEAD BEAT TIMES, a period when skinheads, still united with punx against the system, did achieve their own style of oi!-music, slower, heavier and rougher.Skinheader ...
